Integrity at the West Gate
Trends are changing in Freemasonry, both in our jurisdiction and indeed around the world. For the first time in many years we seem to have an onslaught of petitions from young men in their twenties, thirties and forties. One cannot help but ask “why is this”? what is happening in the outside world that is causing young men to arrive at the west gate seeking to partake with us the mysteries of our fraternity? I suppose one could assume that this may be due, in some small way, to our efforts as a fraternity to become more visible in our communities.  Perhaps it could be linked to a more aggressive approach by the brethren towards attracting new initiates. Or perhaps it’s just the snowball effect of a few good young men spreading the word among their peers that we have something different to offer. And if he cares to enquire he will find that his reflection is quite in keeping with the teachings of the Craft.

How to Do Interesting and Informative Masonic Research
How should you start Masonic research? The answer is simple. If there is a question you have been wondering about, look up that topic and related topics in Coil's Masonic Encyclopedia and Mackey's Encyclopedia of Freemasonry, and other Masonic encyclopedias that you can find in Masonic libraries. Coil's is probably the best, because it is one volume, you can buy it and keep referring to it, and it is the one that is most current, having been revised in 1996 by Allen E. Roberts.

Welcome to our Lodge website
ImageAs lodges go, Dogwood Lodge is a young lodge. Instituted October 6, 1990 and Constituted August 23, 1991. We are formed of a group of masons from the Aldergrove, Abbotsford and Langley areas. We are a part of District #23, which is comprised of 6 Lodges in total. Those being Cloverdale Lodge, Eureka Lodge, Joppa Lodge, Langley Lodge, St. James Lodge and or course ourselves. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month (excluding the months of July and August when we are in darkness). We meet at the Aldergrove Elks Hall (downstairs) located in the center of town at 27309 Fraser Hwy at 7:30pm.

We have been referred to many times as a great country lodge. We pride ourselves on our ritual, but always ensure that we have a laugh or two along the way. If you find yourself in the Fraser valley, please take the opportunity to visit with us. Visitors to our lodge are always very warmly welcomed.
